Specialty UFO Publications

This collection of UFO-related publications is a rare find and I've taken great care at archiving them on this site for future generations.

Among these magazines from the past, you will find the APRO Bulletin. APRO (Aerial Phenomena Research Organization) was an investigative group that was created in the very early days of the modern UFO era, along with NICAP (National Investigative Committee on Aerial Phenomena) which preceded MUFON (Mutual UFO Network). Some members of these groups later became the leading researchers in the field of UFOlogy.

A.P.R.O. Bulletin

Started by researchers Jim and Coral Lorenzen, APRO (Aerial Phenomena Research Organization) was one of two major international civilian research organizations (the other being NICAP) devoted to investigating and reporting on incidents during the 1950s and 1960s. In particular, the APRO Bulletin represented the primary source for reports from South America during those times, and clippings from the bulletin often appeared in the files of Project Blue Book (the official Air Force investigation into the phenomenon). This extensive collection at Open Minds is a rare find for which it deserves much praise.

Flying Saucer Review

Founded by a group of researchers in Great Britain in 1955, and edited by jet test pilot and aviation journalist Derek Dempster, Flying Saucer Review was a compendium of news and opinion from around the world. Today, the collection represents a unique and valuable historical archive of the events of the early decades in the phenomenon -- many of them virtually ignored by the mainstream press -- as well as offering a fascinating insight to the times. This collection at Ufología Heterodoxa is a rare find for which it deserves much praise.

NICAP UFO Investigator

Founded in 1956 by physicist Thomas Townsend Brown, NICAP -- the National Investigations Committee On Aerial Phenomena -- was the largest and most mainstream organization of its time, whose membership included top CIA and military officers, journalists and scientists, along with the general public. With chapters across the world, membership eventually swelled to 14,000. This collection at UFO Doc Archive is a rare find for which it deserves much praise.
