Canadian
UFO Documents
The
Canadian UFO documents on this page were retrieved from
a series of five 16-mm microfilm reels I purchased from
the National
Archives of Canada, back in 1996 - 1997.
Although
the reels contain several hundreds...or perhaps thousands
of documents, I decided to post these particular ones
- all 132 of them - because they describe encounters with
UFOs in this particular region where I reside - Sudbury,
Ontario, Canada.
The
interesting thing is that these UFO reports originated
with the now-defunct Canadian
Forces Station Falconbridge, one of many
radar installations that were part of the pinetree line
of defense for Canada during the Cold War.
Canadian
Forces Station Falconbridge was made famous in the annals
of Ufology back in October
- November 1975 when this radar base and
four other military installations in the United States were
intruded upon by UFOs. The other bases involved were: Loring
Air Force Base in Maine; Wurtsmith
Air Force Base in Michigan; Minot
Air Force Base in North Dakota and
Malmstrom
Air Force Base in Montana.

On
November 11, 1975, a large, unknown target was picked up
on two separate radar sets while four other objects maneuvered
over the city of Sudbury. In the following telephone interview,
Leif Lauritsen describes what he saw while on duty as a
radar technician at Canadian Forces Station Falconbridge.
This is the first time that clarification had been made
as to what was being tracked on radar in comparison to what
was being seen closer to the ground by the various observers.
