FIFTY YEARS AGO

Several people reported seeing a large balloon hovering over Morris for about three hours Saturday night. One witness said he saw "an awful bright light way up in the sky." A couple of fellows swore they saw a rocket thrown from the balloon and a streak of fire followed.
